14.4 Defining types

Set up type values to help you define, search for, and select:

For example, you might want to assign template accounts or roles to users based on the kinds of rights allowed, or by seniority, or term of employment.

You might also want to set up types for inventory objects that are required for certain account holders. For example, remote users may require different types of inventory to local users, or you might want to set up types for computer equipment, furniture, or security devices.

It is recommended that you set up types before adding templates or account group. You must define at least one type value before you can add inventory objects.

To add account types:

  1. From the Workflow configuration menu click Types to navigate to the Type information form.

  2. Type the ID (up to 80 characters) and Description. These will display in selection lists in template / account group / inventory configuration pages.

  3. Select the workflow items to which this type can be applied:

  4. Click Add.

  5. Click Back to return to the Select a type page or Main to return to the Central console (nph-psa.exe) main menu.
