21.2 Common steps for requesting or creating accounts

Once you have selected or defined the recipient, the following steps are common when requesting or creating accounts:

  1. If applicable, type an e-mail address in the Notify me at the following e-mail address field.

  2. Optional: If the request is for somebody else, you can type an e-mail address for the recipient in the Notify the recipient at the following e-mail address field.

  3. If you are a requester, type notes about the request in the Notes on request field if required.

    The information provided may expedite the request because authorizers see these notes when reviewing requests.

  4. Complete other request attribute fields as required.
    1. Click Edit next to the attribute group you want to modify.

    2. Type or select values.

    3. Click Update.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. Add templates and roles to create accounts on any target to which you have access. You can use any combination of templates and roles.
    1. Click the corresponding Add button in the roles and templates tables.

    2. Click the check box next to each role or template that you want to assign to the end user, then click the Add button.
      ID-Synch lists selected templates and roles.

    3. Repeat these steps if required.

    4. Click Continue.

  7. If required, assign inventory if one or more of the selected templates are used for provisioning.

    1. On the Access information (select inventory objects) page, click Select next to the type of inventory item you want to assign to the user.

      ID-Synch displays a list of objects belonging to that type.

    2. Click Select next to the object you want to assign to the user.

    3. Click Continue

  8. If one or more of the accounts requires a password, type an initial password in the Password and Confirm fields.

    ID-Synch provides a list of correctly formatted passwords as suggestions in the drop-down list.

  9. Click Finish, or Create accounts.
